no baby yet...

he's still just hanging out inside. I think he is waiting for his sister's birthday.
A few more days will tell!

baby bump update

my profile at 39 weeks
39 1/2 weeks.

I am feeling better now that I am done work and had last week off. It's been a nice break, even though I have been very busy trying to finish up other baby projects. But it's a kind of therapeutic I guess?? (even though sewing can be quite frustrating). I managed to finish up the crib skirt and sheets. I also have to hang some photos and maybe tackle an art project. Oh - and fill out Skye's calendar and my pregnancy calendar (a few months behind...) and Skye's baby book that seems like it will never get finished. The list goes on and on...and I'm sure I won't get half of it done.

I'll be lucky if I see the end of the this week before baby comes. He's been sitting quite low for weeks now.

Other than that I am just really, really slow - especially by the end of the day. And if I sit too long it is hard to get up, as I get stiff. And if I bend too much (which seems to be a LOT) I feel like I am going to be sick. I tend to wake up quite a few times during the night, between bathroom breaks, Skye calling out, or just trying to roll over. But I guess it's all preparation for another little tike!

Besides carrying different this time (I am pretty much all out front like a basket ball and low, whereas Skye was a little wider and I was puffier), this pregnancy was pretty much identical to the one with Skye up till about a month ago. Then the little guy started bouncing a lot more and hitting nerves down yonder, which raised the uncomfortableness bar. I will NOT miss the frequent bathroom trips! He is a very active little guy - just like his sister was. Oh boy...trouble.

I know I have forgotten what it was like to have a newborn, but I'm sure it will all come rushing back quickly. I've also been meaning to take a quick peak at my maternity "manual" and see when it is time (contractions vs. timing) to actually make my way to the hospital - haha. I haven't looked at any of it. I figure it all happens and there's not much you can do to change it.

Next doctors appointment is tomorrow...

skye's 2nd birthday party (a bit early)

so it was decided that we would have Skye's birthday party a bit earlier,
just in case "baby brother" decides to show up as Skye's actual birthday present ;-)
And I thought that having the party after baby would be a bit too much for me.

The party theme was "You are my Sunshine", as Skye LOVES "suns" whenever she sees them and I have been singing this song to her every night at bedtime since she was born.
And she sings with me now :-)

Everything turned out great and I think everyone had a fun time. It was nice to get a visit in with friends that we haven't seen in awhile.

Huge thank you to my cousin Niki and her daughter Bronte for giving me a hand all day (with party prep & Skye!).  And Bronte did a great job on being baker extraordinaire and baking/decorating the cake & cupcakes. They were delicious!

Skye was excited about the new chalkboard easel that mommy & daddy gave her,

but I think she was more excited when daddy brought home a car for her to drive
(the kid is obsessed with driving, among other things).

She spent a lot of time on that car during the afternoon.
And the rest of the kids enjoyed it at the party as well.
Too bad we didn't charge for rides ;-)

it's a girl!!

but not ours ;-)

Yayyyy! I'm an auntie again.

My sister Cora & Ted added a little pink baby bundle to their family tonight!
I knew it was a girl ;-)

Congratulations to you both!!
